Mam bardzo trudne zadanie tutaj, bo pisanie staje się bardzo wyblakłe z czasem.
Może ktoś przeczytał słowa.

I knew it would be difficult because it was written 90 years ago in blue pencil. However I did not know what language it was.

Wiedziałem, że byłoby trudne, bo było napisane 90 lat temu w niebieskim ołówkiem. Jednak nie wiedziałem w jakim języku to było.

Hello Martin,

it is definitely written in German. The card was sent to an address in "Riemke b/ Bochum", meaning "Riemke bei Bochum". Today, Riemke is part of Bochum. Concerning the name of the receiver, I could _perhaps_ read "Herrn ****(rt?) *****(k)". If you would have some names to choose I could at least say if it is possible or not.

On the left side, I only can read "**er mit Hermann(?) P****" so far.

It should be possible to find out more with an even better copy of the postcard. You could try to scan it with different filters and different contrast - and with higher resolution.

I think that the pencil could have been a so called "Kopierstift" (indelible pensil, follower). If so, it would become purple in contact with water. You could try it with a wet cotton bud on an unimportant spot. Perhaps, this would improve the visibility of the letters.

I suspect that the card was sent to his Brother ( Jakob Feledziak )
I am guessing that the postmark is for Nurnburg, I am also guessing that the Wartime hospital is in Nurnburg. The palace of Justice as it is today.

I have added the front of the card just for you to see.
I shall try the water technique to see if it makes the writing clearer.
It probably does not contain any interesting information, but you never know.

So this is a card was sent by my Grandfather Marcin to his sister Marianna during the Great War.

I know German and I can only make out a few words of the German post card.

The one bit that sticks out is the sixth line from above and says

"ihr mit Hermann R?? / Par??"

"you with Hermann R?? /Par??"

Hello Forum,

I am informed that this an old type of German writing which is very difficult to read. ( Kurrent )
It is made even more difficult because it is so badly faded.
I think we have learned all ther is to learn.
